9th February 2011 Renovating a bathroom or adding an extra one can improve the market value of a house, as well as making a property appear more stylish, it has been claimed.
Writing for the Daily Telegraph, Rosie Millard stated that having the latest in bathroom accessories and a clean, stylish space could make a good impression on potential buyers.
Noel de Keyer, head of houses at Savills' Sloan Street office, told her adding an extra space could increase the value of a home by around five per cent.
Ms Millard advised those looking to invest in bathroom suites that they should go for white, as "any other colour will look dreadful in a matter of months because of the tidal mark from limescale".
She also suggested removing clutter from the area to create a more relaxing space and installing extra storage if this is necessary.
Recently, it was claimed by Joe McLoughlin, director of OurProperty.co.uk, that bathroom renovations may currently be a popular activity.
